Link is the hero of the game. Link is a young Kokiri kid who was called upon by the great Deku Tree to save Hyrule. Later on he would find that he was not a Kokiri, but a Hylian. He grows seven years in the game and
gains the friendship of many on his journey.


Princess Zelda is the damsel in distress. She suspected that Ganondorf had been ploting against her father the whole time, and she sent Link off to save hyrule and called him "the hero". Zelda would turn out to have lots of ganon problems throughout the rest of her life.


Saria was Link's best friend back when he lived in Kokiri village. She gave him a fairy ocarina when he left, and
       taught him a song that would let him talk to her whenever he wanted. Later on, she turned out to be the sage of
                                            the forest.

        Kaepora Gaebora gave Link advice throughout his adventure on various things until the Spirit Temple. This
     mysterious Owl has appeared in Link's Awakening for game boy as well. He can even turn his head upside down!
                                              Cool!



Sheik is a mysterious friend of Link. Sheik always keeps his face covered, and noone's sure who he is or where
         he comes from. He teaches Link many things when he grows older, and is a helpful, yet mysterious ally.
